I love weddings where the couples celebrate their heritage and incorporate traditions into their special day. Monica’s Mexican-inspired wedding came complete with the padrinos, mariachi music, the lazo and arras ceremony. But despite the numerous Mexican weddings I’ve had the honor to photograph, this was the first time for me to witness a “La Vivora de la Mar” dance. Both Monica and Dan stood on separate chairs with the veil being held up. All the females were instructed to hold the person in front of them and run though the guests and tables in and out of doors as the music starts. Then the guys did the same thing. I wasn’t too sure what the point of it was but it is such a fun and lively tradition. Insert <El Grito de Mariachi> here.
