Crown and Crumpet Tea Salon

Time for tea? As a staunch coffee drinker, I met the idea of a tea party with some skepticism. The evite came from a friend in my mom’s group some months ago, with the tongue-in-cheek instructions to wear white gloves and a spring dress. Panic rose within me — my pinky finger was out of practice and I knew I would count down the days looking for appropriate attire. The day arrived and I was decked out in my $20 Target dress and heels. Bring. it. on.

The missing puzzle piece of my childhood must have have slid into place the moment we stepped into the salon. Decorated in pinks of all shades – salmon, carnation and rose – the whimsy interior was straight out of Alice and Wonderland san the Mad Hatter (although I did see a couple of ladies in wide-brimmed hats). The staff was friendly and accomodating. The ambiance allowed me and my 11 mom friends to play out our perfect Jane Austen scene. Crown and Crumpet was the ideal backdrop for laughing, juicy gossiping, sipping tea and nibbling (ladies don’t chew, excuse me) delish scones, crumpets and tea sandwiches. I will dream of Merry Mango, Paris, Piccolo and Happiness Is…

It was such a delightful experience, I am now mentally planning a return visit with my mother and sisters. Check out the Crown and Crumpet website here. I may just be a late tea convert yet. Pinky finger, over and out.
