I never tire of shooting at San Francisco City Hall. I get lost in its ceilings, the delicious light and stately architecture. Add two people madly in love and it becomes a paean to marriage, loyalty and happily-ever-afters.

When Quirky and Cute Collide: Lucille + Dustin | San Francisco Wedding
I was excited to shoot Lucile and Dustin’s wedding last September 1. We had a great engagement session, and I just knew they would bring the same energy and quirkiness to their big day. Lucille and Dustin are an awesome couple with a casual yin-yang dynamic. While Lucille’s a huggable little bundle of energy, Dustin… Read More
When Dr. Surfer Met Dr. Beauty Queen | The Unabridged Story of Rita and Carson
I met Rita at a memorable time and place: I was covering the Chinese New Year Parade in 2012, and she was on the Coke float! We didn’t have a lot of time to talk but we both laughed when we realized we lived five minutes away from each other! Even if I didn’t meet… Read More
The Story of Two Brides: Rosslyn and Laura | Half Moon Bay wedding
When Rosslyn and Laura met me to discuss their wedding plans, I was initially struck with Rosslyn’s name because I’m a Northern Exposure fan. (Am I showing my age?) I loved that little 90s dramedy to death! It was about a quirky little Alaskan town called Cicely, which got its name from its two lesbian… Read More
A Beautiful Southeast Asian Union: Gail and Lawlun
I shot Gail and Lawlun’s engagement photos last September, so when their big day finally arrived I was excited to document this life-changing event. I love it when a couple is just so perfectly matched that it shows up in their eyes and their body language. Everyone in their families and in the entourage could… Read More
French-Filipino Fusion Wedding for Ken and Emily | SF Bay Area Weddings
Oh là là! Ay yay yay! This recent May wedding was by far…one of the best times I’ve had on the job. I met L.A. based Emily and Ken, through the bride’s cousin who somehow knew of me, and was acting as go-between for the wedding planning. And when I met them in person, I… Read More
Bridal Inspiration: Hollywood Glam Wedding at the Fox Theater
A film theatre as a reception venue?! With scores of hotels and resorts to choose from, a film theatre isn’t the first venue that springs to the minds of engaged couples planning their fantasy wedding. Yet once this offbeat choice captures the imagination, like a good movie, it will simply not let go. There’s… Read More
Ornamento: San Francisco Luxury Floral and Event Design
I’ve never been a real girly girl but I’ve always always loved pretty things. Flowers, for one. Amazing creations that will never cease to keep me in awe. That’s why I was especially jaw-dropped at Orna’s redesign of her showcase shop at the San Francisco Fairmont Hotel, Ornamento. I was invited to take part in… Read More
Finding the "I" in WPPI 2013 {thoughts from a sixth-time attendee}
Back at home. And sitting at my laptop in my dining room. One son is happily pounding away on his drum kit downstairs, while my youngest watching my iPod intently while sipping on juicebox like a little drunk man. I’m allowed to spoil them after four days of being away. And yes. It’s good to… Read More
Fox Theatre Redwood City Bridal Showcase
Thank you very much for the happy couples who came out the Fox Theater in Redwood City over the weekend. It was an amazing experience getting to meet all the lovely engaged couples who passed through my booth. We kicked off the event at 11am, and I didn’t stop yapping until 4pm when we closed shop….
